I’ve been doing a bit of both, and as a result I’m feeling really rejuvenated. I’m recharged and eager to get back to our classes together‼️💃🤸‍♀️💪 Let’s get goin’! Woo-hoo! Youthful Hearts Thanksgiving Surprise

Posted by: Jeanette |

November 18, 2013

I have no classes in Novato next week, so I got to start my Thanksgiving celebration early today. My Fit and Fun gals showed up today donning aprons. They presented me with a cornucopia of autumn harvest treats and a hand painted apron that they all autographed in brightly colored acrylic paints. Just beautiful! They are so good to me. (They also brought rolling pins and a couple of turkey basters to use as exercise equipment. What a hoot!) Love to you all for your zestful living! Happy  Thanksgiving everyone! Here are a couple of photos to capture this unexpected treat!

I recently found out that one of my long-term class members, Norma Sass, just turned 90. I announced it to everyone in class that day and, after the initial shock wore off, we all burst into applause to acknowledge her very special birthday. No one could believe that she was 90!  Norma has been attending my Goldenaires Strength and Stretch class for over 13 years, and I feel truly blessed to know her. I want to honor her on our blog this month because I feel that she deserves the recognition.

My jaw dropped recently when one of my line dancing class members,  Johanna de Bruin, told me about her recent skydiving experience. She said that she saw someone on TV skydiving once and ever since then she has wanted to do it. She was beside herself when a friend of hers told her about SkyDance, a premiere Skydiving Training Center located in Davis, California. Johanna immediately called them to schedule a tandem skydive. She was over the top with her excitement! Oh, and by the way, Johanna is eighty years old. Wa-hoo! Check out these photos!

Recently one of my senior class members, Shirley, shared with me that her husband had passed away in early spring. In addition to the stress of dealing with her loss, she was having to deal with loads of unexpected paper work. Her husband's employer was wrongfully claiming that she was not entitled to her husband's pension. As if that wasn't enough, she was also involved in troublesome communications with their insurance company.

Taken from an email that was recently forwarded to me by one of my class members:

How are all of you sweet Youthful Hearts doing? Hopefully you haven't floated away in this continuous rain we've been having. Did you managed to have some fun this holiday season? I hope so! I've enjoyed a wonderful holiday vacation, blending playtime with lots of quality rest, some bits of meaningful work and some exercise, of course. I only exercised one time outdoors this whole 2 weeks! The rest was indoors...mostly in my own garage. :-)

Each time that I exercised during my vacation, I allowed myself to do whatever I felt inspired to do in the moment. I even
