Shelter-in-Place

The videos below are recordings of my live-streaming workouts made during our “shelter-in-place” time. Until we are able to gather in person again, I’m making these videos available to all of my Youthful Hearts class members who normally attend my classes at the Margaret Todd Senior Center in Novato and the San Rafael Community Center Goldenaires. We are most definitely facing some serious challenges during this time of uncertainty. All the more reason to take excellent care of our physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual health.

The worst thing we can do is become sedentary and disconnect from our lifeline bases of support. I will do all that I can, while maintaining my own wellness, to be helpful to my beloved class members. I hope you receive value from my offerings. I’m holding each of you in my heart in the light of love and safety. Be well. I look forward to when we will all be together in-person again.

Thank you for keeping me in business with your monthly donations while the senior centers are closed. I whole-heartedly appreciate your contributions to me for my Zoom classes and/or my videos. This may become a more organized registration process eventually. However, for now, I’m keeping this on a flexible basis for simplicity purposes during this stressful time. Regarding time frame: Pay for classes up until the end of November since we don’t know what the plans are for December yet.

The following are 3 different ways to donate for my offerings:
1. Send a check to: Jeanette Logan, 116 Sunnyglen Drive, Vallejo, Ca 94591
2. Use PayPal to send money to my personal email address: jeanettelogan@mac.com
(Please select that you are “paying a friend” otherwise PayPal takes a percentage.)
3. Use Zelle to my personal email address: jeanettelogan@mac.com

I ask that you be forgiving of imperfections in the videos. A lot of people are online right now, and a few of the videos have minor issues. They are, however, more than good enough for following along with and getting some good workouts with stress release. There are a few exercises where my counting of reps is off. Please, just smile about it and adjust the reps for yourself. I’ve got a lot more to manage than I usually do and am just not going to stress about the small details. 🙂

Didn’t realize it until I saw the recording after class. No worries…I have it corrected now, so future videos should sound better.

June 18, 2020—Below is a video clip demonstrating four ways to get down to and up from the floor. It is not expected that each person will be able to do all of these techniques. Please respect your personal limitations, and don’t do any movements that cause you pain. If you have a difficulty putting weight on your knees, you might be able to do the last technique shown, where you scoot on your bottom instead of coming down on your hands and knees. If you’re currently not able to get down and up from the floor, I highly encourage you to start training for it, if you can do so without hurting yourself. This way, you’re less likely to get stranded if you ever end up on the floor unintentionally. (Clearly, this video is not about what to do if you’ve been injured.) The more you practice, the easier it gets. If/When you’re able to do it properly without pain, getting-down-and-up can be one of the best full body exercises we can do. Lastly, if your body is just not ever going to let you get down to the floor and back up again, then it’s very important for your safety that you wear a medical alert device, especially during those times when you’re alone in your home.

Full Body Stretch and Core Strength, late 2017, (on Mat, not from Zoom). I included a floor routine on this page, as requested by a few of my mat class participants. This is almost a full hour class, all done on the mat. You could divide it into 2 or 3 shorter classes, if you prefer.
