True Commitment is a Powerful Thing

True commitment sets in motion a momentum of support that extends beyond what we can accomplish on our own. When we pursue something with a deep devotion, then the challenges that we may face along the way don’t stop us in our tracks for very long-if at all. Solutions to our problems can sometimes show up in the most unexpected ways.

My All Time Favorite Quote On Commitment

“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favour all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way.”  ~Scottish Himalayan Expedition

That’s one of my favorite quotes too. I haven’t read it in a while so I appreciate the reminder.

“A man ninety years old was asked to what he attributed his longevity. I reckon, he said, with a twinkle in his eye, it’s because most nights I went to bed and slept when I should have sat up and worried.” ~ Dorthea Kent
